Speakers Bureau

The Speakers Bureau is a volunteer led subcommittee of the Advocacy Committee. Current presentation topics include: Green Building Basics and LEED 101. These presentations can be combined for a one hour presentation or can be given as thirty minute presentations.

In this hour-long presentation, the USGBC Colorado Speakers Bureau
representative will cover:
The basics of green buildings:
- The environmental, economic and people impact
- How green building has expanded in the United States

USGBC and LEED:
- The US Green Building Council's role in green building
- The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating system,
various levels, what it is for and its growth in the United States
- More in-depth information about the pieces that make up the LEED rating
system and how to achieve those
- The costs and benefits of LEED-certifying a building
