Metropolitan Branch Advocacy Committee:
VOLUNTEER
Our meetings are the first Thursday of every month at the USGBC CO HQ (1821 Blake St). We often have guest lecturers and presentations from leaders in public policy and the green building industry.
We are currently seeking motivated volunteers to assist with the pursuit of local advocacy opportunities. We are looking for speakers, researchers, advocates, and liaisons. Our current initiatives include:
City Advocacy – We are building relationships with Metro area municipalities to promote the adoption of sustainability initiatives within these communities.
Speaker’s Bureau – We are educating local businesses, community organizations, and associations on the basics of sustainability and LEED.
REQUEST A SPEAKER
Colorado LEED Archive – We are sampling case studies and surveying professionals with the goal of compiling a simple, visual, informative, and effective database for both in depth and at-a-glance Colorado LEED building projects.
Special Projects – We have partnered with the USGBC CO Residential Green Building Initiative to educate realtors about MLS and HERS rating and provide training to Eco Brokers.
