Green Building Tours
The Fort Collins area is home to some of Colorado's most innovative and beautiful green buildings, and we’ve organized tours exclusively for our Chapter Fall Conference attendees. One tour will be offered Thursday evening, September 20th, and a variety of morning tours will be offered Saturday, September 22nd.

Anhueser Busch Green Tour
** DRESS REQUIREMENTS FOR TOUR**
All those wish to join us for the tour must wear long pants (no capris) and closed-toed/closed-back shoes (no heels). Also, no tank tops are allowed
We will begin with a 30 minute presentation on the brewery's sustainability intitiatives - including the 'beer to ethanol' process, on site biofuel crop that fuels the trucks, onsite wildlife habitat, and 'beer labels to carpet backing' initiatives- followed by a 1 hour tour of the facilities. Afterwards you can treat your palate to a sampling of organic beers and a new Colorado brew labeled 'Ascent 54'.

Saturday, September 22nd.
8:30 am- 9:00 am: Shuttle Buses to Kinard Core Knowledge Junior High School, one of Colorado's leading green public schools (all tours begin here).
9:00 am - 10:30 am: VIP Breakfast and
Address by Mike Spearnak, AIA, "Poudre School District commitment to green building and new strategies implemented in six district schools" - including a geoexhange system with loops under the soccer field.
10:30 am - 12:00 pm: Green Commercial Buildings Tour Josie Plaut will lead a tour of top LEED certified commercial buildings, including CSU's LEED CI - Silver certified Guggenheim Hall; the Burr Oak office building that is pursuing LEED NC - Silver, and the LEED
CS -Platinum pursuing Seven Generations Office Complex

10:30 am - 12:00 pm: Green Homes Tour. Fort Collins is home to the first LEED Homes Certified residential project in Colorado, as well as several “Net Zero Energy ” homes. Lara Williams of Green Team will lead a tour of several of Green Homes in Fort Collins. Merton Home is building straw bale homes that are highly energy efficient and Kim Jordan, CEO of New Belgium will show her “net zero” home.

New Belgium Brewery Tour de Fat Bicycle Parade and Fair
Bicycle Parade: 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m: Costume bike parade (costumes optional) around scenic areas of Fort Collins that will be closed to automobile traffic. The parade returns to the Brewery starting point at Noon
Fair: 12:00 p.m to 6:00 p.m: Enjoy live music, games and sideshows
