Recap of Our 2010 Annual Membership EventBy Barb Josey, USGBC CO Membership Chair Thanks to all that joined us for 2010 Membership Event. We could not have asked for a better day to meet downtown to honor our members as well as take in a Rockies game. The date and pairing with a Rockies Event were predetermined and despite the original plan to have it at Coors Field falling through, we were able to find a great setting offsite in The Ginn Mill. The Ginn Mill generously donated their space and staff and allowed us to bring in the catering of choice, Illegal Pete’s taco bar, and a real winner with everyone including the children that attended. We worked hard to get sponsors for this event and had donations towards; the 30 complimentary Rockies tickets, bar tab and food. We enjoyed a diverse cross section of members including architects, developers, students, consultants, sales people and engineers. I also noted members ranging from our Northern and Southern Branches. The feedback from the 50 attendees was positive and everyone had a good time. It was a success to have a small program to highlight the year’s growth and opportunities/victories as well as outline upcoming goals and objectives. This year we chose not to give out volunteer of the year awards but it could be a really nice gesture to define those in the running, making that public knowledge with our email blasts and then award them at our event.
