Greg Franta Memorial Scholarship Fund

By Clay Benson

Greg FrantaIn 2009 the USGBC Colorado Chapter Board approved the creation of the Greg Franta Memorial Scholarship Fund. Greg, who died tragically in a February 2009 car crash, was one of the world’s most renowned green building experts, and a great supporter of the USGBC Colorado Chapter. Greg was dedicated to sharing his knowledge with others through education, both formal and informal. The USGBC Colorado Chapter would like to honor this legacy and maintain this intention by creating the Greg Franta Scholarship Fund.

The Scholarship Fund will award up to $2,000 of scholarships per fiscal year to one or more individuals who are seeking green building education. Anyone who can demonstrate a passion for sustainability related activities such as preserving natural resources, improving air quality, creating pleasing spaces in a conscious manner, or supporting social-environmental issues can apply.
