NTDC 2010
This year's Natural Talent Design Competition proved to be quite a challenge for both students and young professionals. USGBC's 2010 Natural Design Competition, in partnership with Salvation Army’s EnviRenew Initiative, focused on the rebuilding effort in New Orleans. This year, competitors were divided into students and emerging professionals groups with the task of designing a LEED for Homes project, priced affordably, and functional for elderly occupants. Two final teams from the Colorado Chapter's region were chosen to be showcased at Greenbuild 2010 and, for the first time, the designers will see their projects built in New Orleans’ Broadmoor neighborhood. Once the homes are built, they will enter a measurement and verification phase in which they will be graded on energy efficiency, water reuse, and indoor air quality among other categories. The design team whose home performs best during measurement and verification will be awarded the final grand prize in 2011.

Congratulations to the two Colorado Chapter finalists!

1st Place: "Gradient of Social Spaces", Albuquerque, New Mexico (Joshua Rogers | Brandon Rael | Wesley Lansford)

2nd Place: "Broadmoor Root House", Albuquerque, New Mexico (Hilary Noll | Bron Heintz)
