GREEN SCHOOLS DO NOT COST MORE. In fact they save money!! Proper selection of design professionals and long term returns ensure that schools will make money back rather than spend extra.
GREEN SCHOOLS IMPROVE STUDENT PERFORMANCE. Students perform 18-26% better on tests and learn 15-23% faster.
GREEN SCHOOLS KEEP KIDS HEALTHY. More than half of all schools in the U.S. have sick building syndrome, green schools have better air filtration, less chemical off-gassing from furniture and builiding materials and keep students more comfortable which results in 14 million fewer missed school days per year from respiratory illness.
GREEN SCHOOLS KEEP MONEY IN THE SCHOOL! Reductions in lighting, heating and air conditioning energy use save energy and money that adds up to $100,000 per year on average. That's two more full time teachers per school!!
